Dr. Ben Hilliard is performing routine skin cancer surgery when he recognizes his patient, Maeve Covey as someone he heard speak at a support group for parents of drug addicts.  Desperate for support and consolation, he reaches out to her when his 15-year-old son bolts from rehab.  As their children take a treacherous journey through the thickets of addiction, Maeve and Ben take their own journey into the intimacy and immediacy of their shared experience.
