The Wound of Love

After years of training and preparation, Junis, a disciplined but somewhat mechanical violist is at a crossroads. She must break through the bonds that keep her from virtuosity and lead her struggling quartet onto the next level. At the same time she is broke and in desperate need of a new bow. So even though she loves her practice room, she rents it to Mason, a roommate found through an ad in the Village Voice. Mason, a golden boy of the theater a little worse for wear, is fresh from a break-up with his older lover, Sam. Mason bemoans Junis' ascetic lifestyle and tension escalates as these two opposites attempt to claim territory in the small walk-up apartment. One day, Junis comes home to find Mason holding her beloved Florentine viola. His violation shocks and enrages Junis but the eruption opens the way for these two to have a conversation about art, life and love that will change both of their lives inexorably.
